Today is Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday/Shrove Tuesday)! As a college student and mother it may not be possible to travel to a Carnival Celebration or even to New Orleans to celebrate today. However, there may be a celebration on your schools campus.
Take time in between classes to join in the celebration. Make sure that you get a piece of the “King’s Cake” that is a braided baked Danish dough topped with purple, green and gold sugar topping. In every cake there is a tiny baby and the person who receives the baby is asked to host the next King’s Cake party.
If you do get a chance to celebrate Mardi Gras in New Orleans, make sure to catch a parade. New Orleans Parade Schedule.

For those who are unable to attend the parades, have a Mardi Gras Party at home to include the entire family. Make mask and head dresses and have a parade of your own.
